In 2020 - for the first time ever - a coroner ruled that the death of nine-year-old Ella Adoo-Kissi-Debrah in 2013 was caused by toxic air pollution. BIPOC communities are disproportionately affected by pollution around the South Circular in London.
Solution
A campaign that launched on Earth Day 2021 highlighting and celebrating the voices of the BIPOC community. A music video to a brand new song by Love Ssega was made in collaboration with filmmaker Tracy Kiryango. The interactive billboards were placed along South London’s busiest roads serving as advertising for the single release. They also featured a commissioned comic, which tells the story of three South London teenagers who get a climate change awakening on their way to school.
